Wildlife Damage Restoration
Insulation replacement, crawl space restoration, sanitization, and contamination cleanup. We restore what wildlife damages — and protect the air quality inside your home.
Signs You Have a Problem
- Contaminated or compressed insulation in attic or crawl space
- Urine and feces contamination in attic, walls, or ductwork
- Lingering odors after animal removal
- Mold growth from moisture damage
- Stained ceilings or walls from animal contamination above
- Reduced energy efficiency from damaged insulation
Our Work
Our Process
Damage Assessment
We thoroughly document all damage with photography and a written report — including contamination levels, insulation condition, and affected areas.
Remove All Contaminated Insulation
Every square foot of wildlife-damaged, compressed, or contaminated insulation is removed from the attic. This includes insulation saturated with urine, embedded with feces, or tunneled through by rodents. Nothing is left behind.
HEPA-Vac Remaining Feces & Debris
After insulation removal, all remaining animal droppings, nesting material, and fine particulate are vacuumed using commercial HEPA-filtered equipment. This captures particles down to 0.3 microns — including dust, spores, and biological contaminants that standard vacuums would recirculate into the air.
Disinfect & Antimicrobial Treatment
The entire attic is treated with professional-grade disinfectant and antimicrobial spray. This kills bacteria, neutralizes odor-causing organisms, and eliminates pathogens left behind by wildlife — including those found in bat guano, rodent urine, and raccoon feces.
Air Seal All Gaps & Penetrations
Before new insulation goes in, we seal every gap, crack, and penetration in the attic floor — around recessed lights, HVAC boots, plumbing stacks, electrical boxes, and top plates. Air sealing is critical: it keeps conditioned air inside your home, prevents contaminated attic air from entering your living space, and dramatically improves insulation performance so your HVAC system runs less.
Install New Insulation
New insulation is installed to R-38 or higher — blown-in fiberglass or fiberglass batts depending on your attic configuration. The result is a clean, fully insulated attic that performs like new.
The Full Remediation Process
Attic remediation is not a single step — it is a systematic process where each phase builds on the last. Skipping any step compromises the final result. Here is exactly what a professional attic remediation involves:
Remove All Contaminated Insulation
The first step is complete removal of every piece of wildlife-damaged insulation. Insulation that has been tunneled through by rodents, saturated with urine, contaminated with bat guano, or compressed by raccoon nesting cannot be salvaged — it must come out. Our crews remove all contaminated material down to the bare attic floor, ensuring nothing is left behind to harbor bacteria, parasites, or odor.
This is the foundation of the entire remediation. Leaving contaminated insulation in place — even partially — means the contamination, odor, and health risk remain.
HEPA-Vac All Remaining Feces & Debris
Once the insulation is out, animal droppings, nesting material, urine residue, and fine particulate remain on the attic floor, joists, and surfaces. We vacuum all of it using commercial HEPA-filtered equipment rated to capture particles as small as 0.3 microns — including mold spores, dried fecal dust, and biological contaminants that a standard shop vacuum would blow back into the air.
HEPA vacuuming is essential because disturbing dried animal waste without proper filtration creates an airborne health hazard. This step removes the physical contamination that disinfectants alone cannot address.
Disinfect & Antimicrobial Spray
With the attic stripped and vacuumed, we apply professional-grade disinfectant and antimicrobial treatment to every surface. This kills bacteria, neutralizes odor at the molecular level, and eliminates pathogens associated with wildlife waste — including histoplasmosis spores from bat guano, leptospirosis from rodent urine, and Baylisascaris from raccoon feces.
The antimicrobial treatment creates a sanitized surface that is safe for new insulation installation. Without this step, residual contamination would transfer directly into the new insulation.
Air Seal All Gaps & Penetrations
Before installing new insulation, we seal every gap, crack, and penetration in the attic floor — around recessed lights, HVAC supply and return boots, plumbing vent stacks, electrical boxes, wire chases, and top plates where interior walls meet the ceiling. Air sealing is one of the most impactful steps in the entire process.
Air sealing keeps conditioned air inside your living space and prevents unconditioned attic air from entering your home. It also means your HVAC system runs less — because the insulation actually holds heat or cool air in instead of losing it through dozens of unsealed gaps. The Department of Energy estimates that air leakage accounts for 25 to 40 percent of heating and cooling energy loss in a typical home.
Install New Insulation
With a clean, sealed attic, new insulation is installed to R-38 or higher — meeting or exceeding Georgia building codes for Climate Zone 4. We install blown-in fiberglass or fiberglass batt insulation depending on your attic layout, ensuring even coverage with no gaps, thin spots, or compressed areas.
The combination of a sanitized attic, comprehensive air sealing, and properly installed insulation delivers measurable results: lower energy bills, more consistent indoor temperatures, improved indoor air quality, and a home that no longer carries the contamination from previous wildlife activity.
In Short: Remove. Clean. Disinfect. Air Seal. Blow In.
That is the complete remediation process. Every step matters. Remove the contaminated insulation. HEPA-vac the remaining debris. Disinfect and treat every surface. Air seal the attic floor so your home holds conditioned air efficiently. Then install fresh insulation to restore full thermal performance. The result is a clean, efficient, healthy attic — not a band-aid over a contamination problem.
Our Restoration Services
We specialize in insulation and contamination-related restoration. Here's what we offer:

Why This Matters for Your Health
Most homes are not air sealed. This means contaminated air from your attic doesn't stay in the attic — it can enter your living space through recessed lights, HVAC returns, ceiling fans, and other penetrations.
When rodents, bats, or other wildlife contaminate your attic insulation with droppings and urine, those particles can become airborne and circulate through your home. This is a real, documented health risk — especially for children, elderly family members, and anyone with respiratory conditions.
Removing contaminated insulation and replacing it isn't just about energy efficiency — it's about the air your family breathes every day.
Services We Don't Offer (But Can Refer)
Our restoration expertise focuses on insulation, sanitization, and contamination cleanup. We do not perform the following types of work:
- Electrical repairs or rewiring
- Roofing repairs or replacement
- Ductwork repair or replacement
- General handyman services
However, we work with trusted local contractors and are happy to provide referrals for any of these services. Our goal is to make sure your home is fully restored — even if that means connecting you with the right specialist.
Frequently Asked Questions
